The Marda Loop Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) represents over 100 merchants that are the soul of Marda Loop. Our business members contribute to the annual BRZ fund that allows the Marda Loop BRZ to initiate several projects each year to help promote, maintain and enhance Marda Loop.
Since its start in 1984, the Marda Loop BRZ has been managed by a Board of Directors, which is comprised of a group of local merchants who generously volunteer their time for a one year term. This year's board of directors is currently planning: - New urban landscapes to include 33rd & 34th Avenue as one cohesive shopping district
- Parks & more parking
- Rejuvenated Street Festival to benefit local merchants
- New streetlights & street-scaping
- Improved safety to address graffiti and other vandalism and much more
Marda Loop is centered on 33rd and 34th Avenues SW between Crowchild Trail and 19th Street SW. It bisects the neighbourhoods of Bankview, South Calgary, Altadore and Garrison Woods.
